The Rittner Horn

The Rittner Horn is popular both with locals and guests due to its amazing panorama sight and its easy accessibility. You can reach the valley station in Pemmern easily by the railway of Renon and the subsequent public urban bus from Lichtenstern. From there you continue your journey by cablecar - enjoy a relaxing ride floating over mountain pastures up to the peak of Schwarzseespitze at a height of 2,070 metres. Already this view is overwhelming. A well-designed panorama path circles this summit at the timber line in an unhurried one-hour walk. The excursion is especially advisable for families, children and seniors because it is effortless and short. Furthermore, we can absolutely recommend the ascent to the Rittner Horn. It only takes about three-quarters of an hour to reach the peak.

The whole mountain chain lies within the panorama sight right in front of you, beginning with the Ötztaler Alps, the Stubaier Alps, the Zillartaler Alps to the point of the Marmolata - the so-called queen of the Dolomites. Let your eyes wander further over the Schlern, the Rosengarten and the Latemar to the point of the basin of Bolzano. Behind the great Mendelkamm you can see the mountains of the Brenta-group and the beginning of the Ortler-group which completes the panorama view.
