Renon - the Riviera of the Dolomites

Already on your way you experience the vastness of Renon on the panorama street. The street spirals up through vineyards, past St. Magdalena up to Unterinn, surrounded by the unforgettable panorama of the Dolomites. Driving past beautiful, old farm houses and the idyllic Wolfsgrubener-Lake you reach the high plateau at a height of 1.200 metres above sea level and Lichtenstern lies in front of you in the midst of lush meadows.

Renon has over 7,000 inhabitants and is divided into 6 fractions with the principal villages Klobenstein and Oberbozen. The main part of the local people pursues agriculture. There are over 300 farms, many handicraft enterprises, inns and rustic wine taverns (usually farmhouse inns serving its own food products and home-cooked dishes, also serving homemade wine) which invite you to stop for a bite to eat. The Renon ascends gently, over larch and pine forests, higher over the broad mountain pastures of Renon, up to the peak Rittner-Horn at 2,260 metres. The 360° view of the entire alpine mountain chain as the Ötztaler-, Stubaier-, the Zilltertaler-Alps and the Dolomites will remain unforgettable. Over forty 3,000 metre peaks at a glance - awesome!
