The bee museum in Wolfsgruben

You reach the Plattner bee museum in Wolfsgruben in a gorgeous 10-minute walk directly from your hotel. The over 600 years old farm of the Plattner family is one of the most picturesque farm buildings in South Tyrol. At the end of the 70ies the mercantile family Gramm from Bolzano reconstructed the farm, which was hardly changed in the 20th century, in affectionate detail work over a period of four years.

Today the farm shelters a bee museum with historical beekeeping equipment from the Gramm's collection. But you can also visit the original preserved housing unit of the farm, which allows an insight into the life of the mountain farmers of former centuries. On the open-air ground a nature trail can be found as well as bee houses, a kitchen-garden, a pond, old cultivated plants and most notably nature and tranquillity.
